Oktibbeha County Excel By 5 Coalition Members Attend Quarterly Sites Visit

Several members of the Oktibbeha County Excel By 5 Coalition attended the Quarterly Sites Visit on April 26th. 

Community Wide Health Event

The Oktibbeha County Excel By 5 Coalition is one of seven sponsors for a Community Wide Health Event to be held at Sudduth Elementary School on August 4, 2010 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.  Click on the attachment to see the flier and more information about the Health Event.

A Successful Back to School Bash and Town Hall Meeting

The Oktibbeha County Excel By 5 Coalition held its first Town Hall Meeting on July 24, 2010 during the annual Back to School Bash at Emerson Family School in Starkville.

Celebrating Going Back To School

The excitement level was high at the 2010 Back to School Bash held at Emerson Family School.  The first Town Hall meeting for the Oktibbeha County Excel By 5 Coalition was a success with a capacity crowd.

Family Literacy Day

A family literacy event will be held at Emerson Family School this Saturday to serve as another step in the Oktibbeha County's Excel By 5 certification process.

Mini Conference Scheduled for Area Child Caregivers

The Oktibbeha County Excel By 5, Starkville Kiwanis Club, and Mississippi Early Childhood Association will be sponsoring a mini-conference "Growing the Whole Child" for area child caregivers on Saturday, February 5, 2011 to be held at the First Baptist Church in Starkville.

The Oktibbeha County Excel By 5 Coalition, Starkville Kiwanis Club, and Mississippi Early Childhood Association came together to provide the child caregivers training "Growing the Whole Child" on Saturday, February 5. 2011. Seventy-six area child caregivers attended the event that was held at First Baptist Church, Starkville.

CDA Interest Meeting Held

The Oktibbeha County Excel by 5 Coalition hosted a Child Development Associate Interest Meeting on Saturday, April 16 11:00-12:00 at the Emerson Families First Resource Center. Monnie Vail, Director of the Mississippi Child Development Associate Scholarship Program, was the speaker. She informed the group about the credentialing process and scholarships that are available.

Successful Health Fair Held!

Over 1097 attended the 2011 Back to School Bash and Health Fair held on July 30th at the Starkville Sportplex. The Oktibbeha County Excel By 5 Coalition and Oktibbeha County Families First Resource Center partnered to sponsor the event.
