Biloxi Excel By 5, together with the Biloxi Public School System, City of Biloxi, and IP Casino Resort Spa, held a “Count Down to Readiness” event on April 25, 2014. The purpose of the event was to educate students who will enter kindergarten in August, and their parents, on basic kindergarten expectations. Children were given orientations focusing on cafeteria, schoolbus and classroom procedures. The Biloxi Police Department provided fingerprinting and safety information. Students also engaged in age-appropriate activities highlighting kindergarten basic skills.
